Forum: classic_tv Subject: Again, I must ask: Is it OK to upload a public domain TV series from a "digitally restored" DVD release?

I know I am being annoying, but if it is OK to upload such episodes, that would be wonderful. I am a bit paranoid (actually, I do have paranoia problems in real-life) and want to check to see it is OK.

(as for how restored they are: dust and dirt was digitally removed....plus flicker caused by kinescope recording technology was removed digitally. The episodes still have the usual kinescope problems like "curved fishbowl" picture quality, general blurriness, etc etc).

Should be ok as long as there are no notices on the programs.

Do the notices need to be on the episodes itself?

What if they appear on the packaging, for example?

Sorry that I ask all these questions, but I really want to be sure...I am very worried and frankly, even I realise I am being pedantic & annoying. But I won't take any chances.

Any notices on the packaging would apply only to the packaging. The notices you should be concerned with would have to be on the films themselves. If they're not there on the films, it should be ok.

I don't see any new notices (or old notices for that matter) on the episodes I checked, guess it might be OK then...thanks for the info!
